Nodezator is a multi-purpose visual node editor for the Python programming language. It is a desktop application that works by connecting Python functions (and callables in general) visually in order to produce flexible parametric behavior/data/applications/snippets.

The application was created and is maintained by Kennedy Richard S. Guerra (me).

The project has a dedicated website (https://nodezator.com) and an online manual (https://manual.nodezator.com). You can also follow its repository on GitHub (https://github.com/IndiePython/nodezator).

This app is dedicated to the public domain and is in active development. The intended audience of this tool are intermediate Python developers, so this may prove challenging if you are a Python beginner.

Because this is a general programming tool, it can convert virtually any Python callable into a node, including callables from 3rd-party libraries. This means the callables in the hundreds of thousands of Python libraries can be turned into nodes almost effortlessly.

Despite being in active development, this tool still has a long way to go, so it still lacks some basic features. Nonetheless, it can already be used to perform and complement many programming workflows like media editing, content production and game development.

Forum/discussions/issues

If you have any problems, you can comment on this page, but the discussions tab of the online repository is also a suitable place to seek help, you can consider it the official forum: https://github.com/IndiePython/nodezator/discussions

If you are experiencing a more serious problem that causes either:

  • causes the app to crash; or
  • prevent you from using a feature that is supposed to be available.

Then open an issue instead. Please, only do so in such cases. Here's the link to submit issues: https://github.com/IndiePython/nodezator/issues
